Maco Offset UPVC Window Espag Rod Lock Mechanism

An espagnolette multipoint Upvc window lock is the gearing part inside a window that a spindle drive handle operates. The MACO Offset mushroom bolt espagnolette is designed for profiles with or without a Eurogroove and can be used on Aluminium, Timber and Upvc window systems. Maco espags can be fitted to side or top hung windows. The Maco offset espag is compatible with all standard espag handles with 43mm fixing centres with a 7mm square spindle. MACO espagnolettes have been vigorously tested for security and performance above the requirements of industry standards for performance they have been endurance tested to 40,000 operations.

How to identify your window lock - which do I choose?

1. Rail (rod) length - this is the total length of the rod from end to end.
2. The distance between screw hole centres. 43mm is the distance which is the industry standard for almost all Espagnolette rods including.
3. Cam Height - this is the height of the projecting locking part on the rod. Often called a mushroom cam due to its shape, it can be used to replace roller cams without problem.
4. The Backset - this is the horizontal distance from the face of the lock to the centre line of the handle screw fixing holes.
5. Rail width - this is the width of the rod from side to side and almost always 16mm, but please check as you may need a slim 14mm rail offset Espag.
6. Offset or Inline? - now you must determine if you require an 'inline' or 'offset' lock. An inline lock holds the gearbox in the centre of the rail whereas the offset lock is set to one side.

All espagnolette multipoint locks are interchangeable regardless of make but it is essential that the measurements outlined above are correct. If a different make is substituted it is possible that the existing keeps will need to be adjusted to accommodate a slight difference in position of the new cams.
