Threshold worn, cracked or letting rain in? A replacement door threshold (also called a door sill or cill) sits at the bottom of the doorway and helps keep weather out. Low thresholds also make it easier to step through.

Inward and outward opening doors need different thresholds. Check which way your door opens before you choose.
Measure the width of the doorway at the bottom. Compare it with the length on the listing.
Take a photo of the end of your old threshold so you can compare its shape.
For up-and-over or roller garage doors, choose a garage door floor threshold seal and measure the door width.
Most front doors in the UK open inwards. Many French doors and some back doors open outwards. The Exitex OUM thresholds are made for outward opening doors; the Stormguard Lowline is for inward opening doors.
A thermally broken threshold has an insulating break between the inside and outside, which helps reduce heat loss and condensation at the bottom of the door.
A floor threshold seal fixes to the garage floor under the door to stop rain, leaves and draughts getting in.
They are names for the same thing: the strip at the bottom of the doorway. You may also see it called a door sill.
A threshold helps, especially with a weather bar on the bottom of the door. Make sure it is sealed properly when fitted.
On many outward facing doors, a weather bar on the bottom of the door works with the threshold to throw rain away.
