Wedge gasket shrunk back from the corners? Corded wedge gasket has a cord through it, which stops it stretching as you fit it, so it is less likely to shrink back later.
We stock Reddiplex Reddicord PVC wedge gaskets in a range of profiles (such as R3409 and R3412), sold per metre, and a corded wedge gasket sample pack.
Pull a short length of the old wedge gasket out from between the glass and the bead, and look at the end.
Measure the gap between the glass and the glazing bead. This sets the thickness you need.
Compare your piece with the product diagrams. Reddiplex profiles are listed by R-number.
If several profiles look similar, test them in the frame with a sample pack first.
The cord inside controls stretching during fitting. Stretched gasket shrinks back over time, which leaves gaps at the corners.
Start at a corner and push the gasket into the gap between the glass and the bead, working along each side. Don't stretch it, or it will shrink back and leave gaps at the corners. Leave a little extra and trim neatly.
It is the Reddiplex profile number. Match it to your old gasket if you can.
