How to measure your uPVC door handle - PZ centre and screw fixing centres

Measurement tips

  • PZ Centre: Measure from the centre of the keyhole to the centre of the handle spindle. Check this on both the inside and outside handle, as on some uPVC doors the two measurements are different. This is called an offset PZ (e.g. 92/62mm), and you will need offset handles to match.
  • Screw Centres: Measure the distance between the centres of the two fixing screws
  • Use a ruler or tape measure for accurate results
  • If you have an existing handle, measure directly from that
  • Replacing an old handle? Measure your old backplate's width and length too, and choose a new handle with a backplate the same size or larger – the old handle often leaves an outline of marks or discolouration on the uPVC, and a smaller plate won't cover it
