Flat uPVC door panels (standard). The workhorse replacement panel — a smooth, flat sheet that drops into the door frame where your old panel used to sit. Ideal for swapping out a cracked, yellowed or water-damaged panel on a uPVC front or back door. Supplied as a standard 750mm × 750mm blank in white, and you cut it down to fit your door's aperture on site.
Reinforced flat door panels. Same 750mm × 750mm blank and flat profile, but with an internal reinforcement layer for extra security and rigidity. A sensible upgrade for front doors, back doors and anywhere the panel is below the letterbox or within easy reach of the outside. Reinforced panels help resist kick-ins and add noticeable weight to the door.
Half panels. A half panel fits the lower half of the door, below a midrail or glazed top section. Very common on older uPVC doors where the bottom has taken a knock or the original panel has discoloured. Measure the panel aperture carefully — width, height and thickness all matter.
Conservatory door and side panels. Flat panels also suit conservatory doors and the lower fixed panels in conservatory frames. The fitting principle is the same — remove the glazing beads, swap the panel, bead it back in.
At the moment we stock flat panels only — we don't currently offer moulded or decorative panels. If you're after a patterned or moulded design, get in touch before ordering and we'll let you know your options.
How do I measure my uPVC door panel?
Measure the panel aperture (the opening in the door frame that the panel sits in), not the old panel itself. You need width, height and thickness — most uPVC door panels are either 24mm or 28mm thick, but always check. Our panels come as a standard 750mm × 750mm blank and are cut down on site to match your aperture, so as long as your opening is within 750mm × 750mm, one blank will do the job.
What's the difference between a standard and a reinforced panel?
A standard flat panel is a uPVC-skinned sandwich with an insulating core — fine for internal-facing or lower-risk locations. A reinforced panel has an additional rigid layer bonded inside, making it heavier, stiffer and harder to force. For front doors and accessible back doors, reinforced is the one we'd recommend.
Do the panels come cut to size, or do I need to cut them myself?
All our panels ship as a standard 750mm × 750mm blank — they're designed to be cut down on site to fit your door's aperture. A fine-tooth saw does the job; measure twice, cut once, and take a little off at a time. Reinforced panels are harder to cut because of the internal layer, so take it steady.
Why has my old panel cracked or gone yellow?
Older uPVC panels can discolour over time from UV exposure, especially on south-facing doors, and the skins can crack from impact or thermal movement. A failed panel is almost always cheaper and quicker to replace than a whole door — and modern panels hold their colour much better.
Do you sell moulded or decorative door panels?
Not at the moment — we only stock flat panels. If you need a moulded, Georgian-style or patterned panel, message us before ordering and we'll let you know what we can do.
Will a new panel stop my door draughting?
Sometimes — if the draught is coming through a cracked or ill-fitting panel, yes. But draughts often come from worn door gaskets, a dropped door or a failing threshold seal rather than the panel itself. If you're not sure where the draught is coming from, send us a photo and we'll help you narrow it down.
