Fitting or re-glazing a uPVC window? Double sided security glazing tape bonds the glass unit to the frame, which makes it much harder to remove the glass from outside.
We stock JCP double sided high security glazing tape in 15mm x 2mm (25m), 15mm x 3mm (20m), 15mm x 4mm black DSX (20m), 15mm x 5mm (12m) and 10mm x 1mm (50m).
Choose a width that suits the glazing rebate.
Choose the thickness to suit the gap between the glass and the frame, from 1mm to 5mm.
Measure round each glass unit and add a little extra. Check the roll length on the listing.
Security tape is especially useful on windows glazed from the outside.
On externally glazed windows, the glass is held in by beads on the outside. Taping the glass unit to the frame means it can't simply be lifted out if the beads are removed.
Clean and dry the frame, apply the tape round the rebate, peel the backing and press the glass unit firmly into place.
