Condensation on the windows, mould in the corners or a stuffy room? A window vent lets a small, steady flow of fresh air in while the window stays shut and locked. We stock replacement trickle vents and rotary vents for uPVC, aluminium and timber double glazed windows from Titon, Greenwood, Yale and Simon.
Look for a name on the vent, such as Titon, Greenwood, Yale or Simon. Matching the same model is the easiest way to reuse the existing slots and screw holes.
Measure the inside vent from end to end. The new vent needs to cover the slots in the frame completely.
Measure the length of the slots cut through the frame and the distance between the screw holes, so the new vent lines up without re-cutting.
Equivalent area, shown as a figure like 2500EA or 4000EA, is how much air the vent lets through in square millimetres. Choose the same or higher than your old vent.
They help. A trickle vent gives a constant trickle of fresh air that carries moist air out, which reduces condensation on the glass. Heating, extractor fans and drying clothes outside all make a difference too.
Yes, but slots must be cut through the frame with the correct router or cutter, so it's a bigger job than a straight replacement. Replacing an existing vent with a matching one only needs a screwdriver.
Not to an existing sealed unit. The hole has to be made when the glass unit is manufactured, so you would need a new sealed unit with a vent hole. Replacing an existing rotary vent is straightforward.
Send us photos of the vent inside and outside with a tape measure in shot through our part identification service and we will find a match.
Not sure which window vent will fit? Send us a photo and we'll match it for you.
