Description
Fab & Fix Kensington uPVC Door Handle Set 92PZ Sprung Lever/Lever 215mm Screw Centres
Replace your worn or sagging uPVC door handle with the Fab & Fix Kensington — a Secured by Design sprung lever set with 92mm PZ centres and 215mm fixings.
Fab & Fix Kensington Lever/Lever Door Handle Set is the exact-fit answer to a drooping, stiff or tired-looking uPVC door handle. With 92mm PZ centres, 215mm overall screw fixing centres and an 8mm spindle, it's a direct replacement for the most common multipoint lock handle configuration found on uPVC, composite, timber and aluminium doors. The integral return springs are fitted into the backplate itself, holding your lever crisply at 90° with no sag — restoring that solid, positive action your door had when it was new. Supplied as a complete pair with spindle and colour-matched fixings, it fits doors from 45mm to 54mm thick.
Manufactured in solid die cast zinc with an integrated steel strengthening plate, the Kensington is Secured by Design accredited and meets PAS 24:2012 on most door systems. Every finish is salt spray tested to 480 hours (BS EN 1670 Class 5) and the handle is endurance tested beyond 200,000 cycles — so it will keep performing long after cheaper alternatives have failed.
Key Benefits for uPVC & Composite Door Owners:
- Direct Replacement Fit – With 92mm PZ centres, 215mm screw centres and an 8mm spindle, the Kensington matches the standard configuration on most uPVC and composite door multipoint locks. Check three measurements and you can order with confidence — no guesswork, no wrong-size returns.
- No More Sagging Levers – Return springs are built into the backplate, holding the lever firmly at 90°. If your current handle droops or feels sloppy, this restores a crisp, like-new action.
- Secured by Design Accredited – Police-preferred specification with three M6 screw fixings positioned for maximum resistance against attack, plus an integrated steel strengthening plate. Genuine reassurance for your main entrance door.
- Fits Left or Right Hung Doors – The levers are fully reversible by design, so one handle set covers universal handing. No need to work out which way your door opens before ordering.
- Finish That Lasts – Every finish is salt spray tested to 480 hours (BS EN 1670 Class 5), making the Hardex Electro coating one of the most corrosion-resistant available — ideal for coastal and exposed properties where cheaper handles pit and tarnish.
- Proven Long-Term Durability – Endurance tested to over 200,000 cycles in the Fab & Fix test house. Solid die cast zinc construction means this is a buy-once replacement, not a stopgap.
- Part of the Perfectly Matching Home Range – Choose Hardex Chrome, Hardex Gold or White to match your existing window handles, letterplates and door furniture for a consistent look across your whole home.
- Complete Kit Supplied – Pair of handles, spindle and colour-matched M6 fixing screws all included, ready to fit doors from 45–54mm thick.

Please measure your existing handle carefully before ordering — the PZ centres (92mm) and screw fixing centres (215mm overall) are the critical dimensions. If you are unsure which size you need, please contact us and we'll be happy to help.
Pro Tips:
Pro Tip: Before ordering, remove one of your existing handles and check whether the lever springs back on its own — that means it's sprung. A sprung handle like the Kensington must replace a sprung handle; it can also upgrade an un-sprung one, but never the other way round. While the handle is off, measure centre-to-centre from the spindle hole to the keyhole (should be 92mm) and from the bottom screw hole to the top screw hole (should be 215mm, with the third hole 115.5mm up from the bottom).
Package Contents:
- 1 × Pair of Fab & Fix Kensington 92PZ Lever Door Handles
- 1 × 8mm Spindle
- 3 × M6 Fixing Screws (colour-matched)
Frequently Asked Questions:
Will this handle fit my uPVC door?
It will if three measurements match: the distance from the centre of the spindle hole to the centre of the keyhole should be 92mm (the PZ centres), the distance between your top and bottom screw holes should be 215mm centre to centre, and your door should be 45–54mm thick. The third screw hole sits 115.5mm up from the centre of the bottom screw hole. Backplate length and lever length are less critical — a slightly longer or shorter handle makes no difference to fit.
Is this handle easy to fit myself?
Yes — replacing a door handle is one of the more straightforward DIY jobs. Simply unscrew your existing handles, withdraw the old spindle, insert the new 8mm spindle and secure the new pair with the three M6 screws supplied. No drilling or door modification is needed when the measurements match, and the levers are fully reversible so handing is never an issue.
Which finishes are available and will they match my other hardware?
The Kensington is available in Hardex Chrome, Hardex Gold and White. As part of the Fab & Fix Perfectly Matching Home range, each finish is colour-matched across the full suite of window handles, letterplates and door furniture — so you can coordinate your whole home's hardware, not just one door.
What does "sprung" mean and do I need it?
Sprung means return springs are fitted (here, inside the backplate) to hold the lever at 90° and prevent sag. To check your current handle, remove it and operate the lever — if it springs back, it's sprung and must be replaced with a sprung handle like this one. An un-sprung handle can safely be upgraded to sprung.
How secure is this handle?
The Kensington is Secured by Design accredited — the official police security initiative — and meets PAS 24:2012 on most door systems. It features an integrated steel strengthening plate, and its three M6 screw fixings are positioned to create maximum resistance against attack. For a complete upgrade, consider replacing your euro cylinder at the same time — we stock anti-snap and anti-bump cylinders to suit all budgets.
Why Choose the Fab & Fix Kensington Door Handle?

It's a small job that restores the solid feel, security and kerb appeal of your front door for years to come.

Replacement for Rockdoor
I needed a replacement for a Rockdoor composite door. GAP, the original supplier, were utterly useless at supplying, however JCP had these in stock, same type exactly, great price, quick shipping, fitted in 5 mins. Excellent product and great service from JCP Hardware.
