Description

ERA Fab & Fix composite door hinge, 100mm tall, rebate fix and universal-handed, for inward opening Solidor and Comp Door composite and timber doors.

ERA Fab & Fix Composite Rebate Fix Door Hinge is the hinge used on Solidor and Comp Door composite doors. This Fab & Fix composite door hinge suits composite and timber doors that open inwards. The frame part suits timber or uPVC door frames.

It is sold as a single hinge: a steel hinge body and flag with a matching zinc clip-on cover cap in your chosen finish. Choose from White, Black, Hardex Chrome or Hardex Graphite. Fixing screws are not included.

Dimensions - Check It Fits:

Key sizes to check:

  • Overall height: 100mm
  • Fixing holes (6-hole leaf): 3 rows at 39mm centres (78mm top to bottom), 2 columns 27.5mm apart
  • Fixing slots (slotted plate): outer slots 66mm centres, inner slots 31mm centres
  • Type and handing: Rebate fix, universal (left or right), inward opening doors only

Other sizes: Leaf width 44.5mm · First hole column 6mm from leaf edge · Slotted plate depth 27mm · Plate tab 14mm · Slots take Ø5mm screws · Adjustment up to 5mm vertical and horizontal

To check a match, measure your old hinge's height and the distance between its fixing holes, and note any name stamped on it. Take the cover cap off first so you can see the fixing screws.

This will not fit if: your door opens outwards, your old hinge is not 100mm tall, or its fixing holes do not line up with the centres above.

What It Fits and Replaces:

  • Solidor composite doors
  • Comp Door composite doors
  • Composite and timber doors that open inwards
  • Timber or uPVC door frames

Key Benefits:

  • One hinge for either hand – the hinge is universal. You turn it round during assembly to suit a left or right hand door.
  • Adjustable on site – slotted screw holes in the fixing plate give up to 5mm of vertical and horizontal adjustment, so you can reposition the door to close properly in its frame.
  • Tested for heavy doors – tested to over 100,000 cycles at 80kg to BS EN 1935. Three hinges carry an 80kg door.
  • Corrosion resistant – meets BS EN 1670 Grade 5 (480 hours salt spray), which suits an external door.
  • Hidden fixings – the clip-on cover cap hides the screws and matches the rest of the Fab & Fix range.

Pro Tips:

Pro Tip: To take the cover cap off without marking the hinge, slide a thin 1mm plastic packer between the cover edge and the frame part. Then slide the cover firmly off to reach the screws. Reverse this to refit it. When replacing composite front door hinges, change one at a time with the door supported so it stays aligned.

Tools you'll need: A cross-head screwdriver, a thin plastic packer for the cover cap, and Ø5mm fixing screws (not included).

What's in the Pack:

  • 1 × Complete hinge (hinge body) in your chosen finish
  • 1 × Matching clip-on cover cap

Fixing screws are not included. The slots take Ø5mm screws.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Is the Fab & Fix composite door hinge left or right handed?

Neither: it is universal. You turn the hinge round during assembly to suit a left or right hand door, so one part covers both.

Which composite door hinge types does this replace?

It replaces the 100mm rebate fix knuckle hinge used on Solidor and Comp Door composite doors. It is for inward opening composite and timber doors, not outward opening doors or flag-hinged uPVC doors.

How do I measure my old composite door hinge?

Remove the cover cap and measure the hinge height, which should be 100mm. Then check the fixing holes: on the 6-hole leaf they are 39mm apart top to middle and middle to bottom, with the two columns 27.5mm apart.

How many hinges do I need for a composite door?

Three hinges give an 80kg load capacity. Hinges are sold singly, so order three to replace a full set.

Are adjustable composite door hinges easy to fit?

Yes. Slotted screw holes in the fixing plate let you move the door up to 5mm vertically and horizontally after fitting. Remove the cover cap with a thin plastic packer to reach the fixing screws.
