How do I measure a Yale Platinum door cylinder?

For accurate sizing, follow these steps:

1. Remove your existing cylinder.
2. Note which side is external (marked "EXT").
3. Measure the internal (A) and external (B) sides to the center of the screw hole.

Example: A = 40mm (Internal), B = 50mm (External) → Order size: 40mm Int, 50mm Ext

The Yale Platinum lock has two specific sides: one for the outside (external) and one for the inside (internal). To get the correct fit, make sure to measure each side carefully. To help, the external side is clearly labeled with "EXT" for easy identification and installation.

Easy Installation Guide

1. Remove the Existing Cylinder

• Remove the door handles.
• Locate the fixing screw on the side edge of the door (level with the cylinder).
• Use a screwdriver to undo the fixing screw and release the cylinder.
• Insert a key into the external side of the existing cylinder and turn it slightly to align the cam with the cylinder body.
• Gently push the cylinder out from the external side.

1. Detach the Thumbturn Knob

   Use a Hex Allen key (not included) to remove the thumbturn knob from the new cylinder.

2. Position the New Cylinder

   Insert the new cylinder into the door, ensuring the side marked "EXT" faces the outside (external).

3. Align and Secure

• Line up the cylinder and door fixing holes.
• Secure the cylinder in place using the provided fixing screw, being careful not to overtighten.

1. Reattach the Components

• Refit the door handles.
• Reattach the thumbturn knob to the cylinder.
