Description
Multipoint Door Lock Gearbox Only Safeware Twin Spindle UPVC 35mm Backset 92/62mm
Safeware multipoint door locking mechanism replacement gear box lock case. Suits the Safeware 7 full length door lock. Replacing the gearbox is cost effective as it saves having to buy a complete new lock and it is quite easily achieved. The latch can easily be reversed to fit both left and right handed doors.
It has a 35mm back set (distance from the centre of the spindle to the edge of the faceplate) and the distances from the centre of the spindles to the centre of the euro cylinder lock hole are 92mm (92PZ) and 68mm (68PZ). The gearbox lock is designed as a twin spindle but can also be used as a single spindle for lever/lever handles.
For identification purposes C455F is stamped on the Safeware gear box lock case and is quite distinctive but, as always, taking careful measurements will ensure a correct fit.
Features:
- Latch and Hook
- Twin Spindle: can also be used as a Single Spindle for lever/ lever handle operations
- Non Handed - fits both left and right handed doors
- Fully reversible latch

What should I check before ordering a new door lock?
The most important measurements are the lock Backset and the lock handle centres (the distance from the centre of the handle spindle to the centre of the barrel). Please remember to check your gearbox against all of the measurements (you will need to remove the lock from the door to get accurate measurements).
The centre latch is non-handed, it can easily be reversed by following the instructions below.
- Undo the screw located in the end of the latch
- Rotate the latch 180°
- Slide the latch back in
- Replace and tighten screw
