An excellent non-handed (will fit left or right hung doors) door lock made by Avocet suitable for doors with lever-lever and lever-pad operations.

Constructed in steel with a new Trivalent silver finish.

What should I check before ordering a new multipoint door lock?

The most important measurements are the backset and the lock handle centres (the distance from the centre of the handle spindle to the centre of the barrel). Both measurements should be checked before ordering to ensure compatibility.

The lock case has 2 spindle holes with 92mm and 62mm handle centres. The top hole at 92mm can be used with a standard lever / lever operated handle, alternatively by using both spindle holes an offset lever / pad handle can be used to prevent entry without a key when the door is latched only.

Operation:

Locking inside/outside: Lift lever engages roller cams into plates, single turn of key locks the mechanism, lever returns to horizontal position.

Unlocking inside/outside: Single turn of key unlocks the mechanism, depress lever disengages roller cams and retracts latch, lever returns to horizontal position.
