Our heavy duty solid brass doctors door knocker has a timeless elegance, mixing the traditional with a stunning modern finish. Manufactured from high quality brass, then hand polished and topped off with a durable coating.
These doctor knockers come as a sturdy unit, with a classic 'doctors knocker' shape. The knocker has a through fixing for strength and stability.
This solidly made knocker is reminiscent of times gone by where the Victorian physicians would identify themselves by fitting this design of knocker on their door - it permitted the sleeping doctor to be woken by a frantic caller in the middle of the night. Thankfully this use is a rarity nowadays, but a resounding rap with these knockers still echoes quality and great taste.

Installation:
Tools required: Pencil, tape measure, spirit level, electric drill and drill bit and spanner.
- 1: Measure the spacing between the fixing positions on the door knocker; you will require two holes; one for the door knocker itself and one for the striking plate. Then select where you want to place the knocker on your door. Using a pencil, mark on the door where each bolt will go.
2: With the electric drill and the correct sized drill bit, carefully drill holes all the way through your door. Clean the holes so that they are free of dust and particles.
3: Place the striking plate bolt through the correct hole, ensuring that the nut is on the inside of the door (trim to the correct length as necessary); screw the bolt into your striking plate securely. Next, put the second bolt through the other hole and screw it into the door knocker. Use a wrench or spanner to gently tighten all bolts. (Please note that some knockers may have a small grub screw to stop the fixing and striking plates rotating, these will require separate shallow drill holes).
4: Wipe the knocker clean of any dust from the installation, stand back and admire your good work!

Shop with absolute confidence knowing that if you are not satisfied for any reason we will refund the full purchase price providing you return the item within 30 days and in the same condition as when dispatched. Except for those cases where an item proves to be faulty, damaged on delivery or incorrectly described, return delivery charges and postage expenses are not refunded.
How do I return Items?
If you need to return an item please log into your account and click on the orders tab. Locate the order you wish to return and on the right click on 'Return Items?' You will then be taken to the returns tab; on the right hand side enter the quantity you wish to return; then on the left below the item, select the return reason and then the return action (whether you would like a replacement or a refund). If a replacement is not available, we will issue you a refund. There is a comments box to the right if you need to enter any more details.
Once you are happy that all the details have been correctly entered then click on the 'Submit Return Request' button. You will then be sent a return request email from JCP Hardware with instructions.
