R6419X Black Bubble Gasket UPVC Window Door Double Glazing Rubber Seal
No adhesive is required to fit this gasket, the gasket is designed to simply push in to a groove located around a sash or frame. Fitting new gaskets can solve many problems, draughty and leaking windows are one of the many symptoms of a failing gasket. Over the year many gaskets will lose their flexibility, start to shrink and even disintegrate

Important:
When fitting it is easy to cut the gasket too short - to avoid this measure around the unit and add approximately 6cm to the length required before cutting.

Replacement of rubber gasket R6419
We had draughty leaks and excessive road noise starting to emanate from our landing and one bedroom window. Close inspection showed that the existing gasket was squashed and splitting. I purchased 10 metres of a direct replacement from JCP hardware as a test for one window to see if it made a difference? I had never done anything like this and suitably equipped with scissors and a sharp knife I pulled out the first outer gasket. I cleaned up the dirt and residue with tissues and WD 40 and started to insert my gasket into place trimming the end with my sharp knife. It was a doddle! Then, I shut the window and immediately noticed the difference! Now I knew how easy it was I did the inner frame gasket in the same manner, but quicker, as I now knew how easy it was. As I had enough to start the bedroom window I replaced the outer seal in it and again noticed a difference in draught and noise. All I have to do now is buy more gasket from JCP Hardware and get fitting. This will be done imminently!

I have use this type of seal before and it works well. I would have given it 5 stars instead of 4 stars if it had been lubricated with chalk instead of oil as its a bit messy to use.
