What to Measure

Handle PZ

Measure from the centre of the spindle to the centre of the keyhole. Our range includes 43mm, 90mm and 92mm PZ handles.

Handle fixings

Measure between the fixing screws. Our range includes 109mm, 135mm, 145mm and 154mm fixing centres.

Rollers

Take the old roller out and measure the whole cartridge, not just the wheel. Note the wheel size (for example 32mm or 38mm) and how many wheels it has.

Locking or dummy

A locking handle has a keyhole. A dummy handle has no lock and is used on the second door or a fixed panel.

Sliding Patio Door Buying Guide

Sliding Patio Door Handles

Inline sliding door handles come as locking sets with a keyhole, dummy sets with no keyhole, lever only parts and outside blanking plates. Match the PZ, the fixing centres and the spindle, as similar-looking handles can have different fixing positions.

Sliding Patio Door Rollers

Worn rollers make a door heavy to slide and can let it drop. Rollers sit in the bottom of the door, usually in pairs. Compare the full cartridge with the product photos, and note the wheel diameter, number of wheels and height adjustment.

Sliding Patio Door Locks

If the key turns but the door won't lock, the lock or keeps may be worn. Check the faceplate size and the position of the hooks or bolts against the listing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are sliding patio door handles universal?

No. Match the PZ, fixing centres, spindle and backplate size to your old handle.

How do I replace a sliding patio door handle?

With the door open, undo the screws on the inside handle, remove both handles, fit the new pair and tighten the screws evenly. Check it locks and unlocks before you close the door.

Can I identify a roller from the wheel size?

Not on its own. Compare the whole cartridge, the number of wheels and the fixing as well.
