Description
UPVC Sliding Patio Door Leading Bogie Spring Mechanism Bogey SI Siegenia PSK
This high quality leading bogie spring will upgrade the performance of your UPVC sliding patio doors; specifically designed for SI Siegenia PSK systems. Built to ensure smooth, reliable door operation, this durable spring helps maintain alignment and ease of movement, making it an essential replacement part for keeping your patio door in top working order. The bogie spring is vital for the smooth operation of tilt-and-slide patio doors; if the spring fails, the bogie won’t engage and disengage from the bottom track arm correctly. This can cause the bogie to lose its locked position, making the door swing inward prematurely. Say goodbye to dragging doors and enjoy seamless sliding action – ideal for homeowners looking to restore the effortless function of their Siegenia PSK door setup.

Do I Need A Left or Right Handed Spring?
Tilt and Slide Patio doors have two types of Bogie Wheels, a lead and a slave. These are connected by a steel rod held in situ with two hex head screws positioned at opposite ends.
Looking from the inside you first need to identify the lead Bogie Wheel which is the one directly below the door handle. If this handle is on the left side of the door then you will require a left hand spring. Conversely if the handle is on the right then a right hand spring will be needed. Please refer to the diagram in the gallery.
Fitting Tips:
- Detach the Scissor Arms: Start by carefully unclipping the two scissor arms located at the top of the patio door, which connect the sliding door to the track frame. Typically, these arms are secured within glider blocks inside the track housing, held in place with either an Allen key, a slotted key, or, on older systems, a couple of grub screws. Important: Ensure that another person supports the weight of the patio door during this step, as the sash could be heavy and potentially hazardous if it slips.
- Tilt the Door Sash: With the door sash disconnected, carefully tilt it down to around a 45° angle. This position should allow the bogie wheels to move away from the bottom track, which usually has a lip to keep the wheels securely positioned when the door is upright.
- Rotate the Door Sash: Turn the door sash onto its side to reveal the bogie wheels. You should be able to see where the new spring needs to be attached. If the old spring is still in place then take a photo at this stage to show how the spring is threaded. If the spring is broken then you will need to refer to the manufacturer website for the correct placement.
- Attach the New Spring: Thread the new spring around the designated attachment points, making sure to secure the retaining lips in place. This can be a bit delicate, as the spring needs to fit snugly around the location lugs and fixing points.
- Verify Functionality: Once attached, the spring should help keep the leading bogie arm open while in the sliding position, ensuring that the patio door slides smoothly and aligns correctly when closing.
