Door Knobs

Centre Door Knobs

Want a traditional pull for your front door? A centre door knob gives you something solid to pull the door closed with, and adds a classic finishing touch to period and modern doors.

We stock heavy duty solid brass centre pull door knobs from Prima and UAP in a range of traditional and modern designs, from round and ball knobs to Victorian, octagonal and ring styles. Check each listing for the size.

Choosing a Centre Door Knob

Size

Knob sizes range from about 60mm to 82mm across. A larger knob suits a wide, heavy door; a smaller one suits a narrow door or rail.

Design

Plain round and ball knobs suit most doors. Victorian, octagonal and ring designs suit period homes.

Fixing

Check how the knob fixes to the door and that the fixing suits your door thickness. See each listing for details.

Matching

Match the finish to your knocker, letter box and handles.

Door Knob Guide

What Is a Centre Pull Door Knob?

A centre door knob is fitted in the middle of the door, usually at about chest height. It is a fixed knob used to pull the door closed; it does not open the lock.

Where to Fit a Door Knob

Most centre knobs are fitted on the middle rail of the door. If your door has a letter box there, the knob is often fitted above it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does a centre door knob open the door?

No. It is a fixed pull. You open the door with the key or handle.

Can I fit a door knob to a uPVC or composite door?

Yes, as long as the fixing suits your door. Check the listing for the fixing details.

What size door knob do I need?

Choose a size that suits the width of your door and the space on the rail. If you are replacing a knob, measure the old one.
